Helping Neighbors

Community Pet Ministry

  • The Pinnacle View UMC Community Pet Ministry is a special part of our church’s ministry. In addition to our Annual Pet Blessing and our Memorial services, we also offer community therapy dog trainings! Learn more here or email pets@pinnacleviewumc.org.

Community Reading Library/ AR Kids Read

  • Year-round activity

Founded in 2012, AR Kids Read harnesses the power of volunteers, college students, and program partners to help at-risk students build valuable literacy skills and gain academic confidence. But these efforts are about more than an individual student or school. As we work together, we foster the strength, stability, and long-term health of our entire community. Visit https://arkidsread.org/ to learn how to get involved. We also collect elementary school books for this activity!

For more information or to get involved email office@pinnacleviewumc.org.

Blessing Box/Food Pantry Partnership

  • Pinnacle View UMC provides volunteers at the Highland Valley UMC Food Pantry each Wednesday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. In return, Highland Valley provides us with food for our Blessing Box, which was constructed by the Girl Scout troop that meets on our campus. To volunteer or get more information, contact the church office.

Ozark Mission Project

  • Summer activity

Ozark Mission Project (OMP) is a nonprofit mission of the Arkansas Area United Methodist Church that annually sends church youth groups to campsites and churches across the state. These groups of youth and adult helpers engage with surrounding communities by serving individuals who are in need of minor construction and home maintenance projects. The teams get to know their neighbors by spending part of the time sharing lunch and visiting.

Email the church office for more information.

Disaster Response Ministry/Teams

  • Year-round activity, following natural disasters

Become an Early Response Team member! Be part of a team that offers a caring Christian presence as you participate in safely cleaning-up and securing disaster-damaged homes and property. There is regular training, and a group that deploys together. More information can be found here.

To get involved, email Roy and Shelley Lee.

Annual Ingathering

  • Autumn harvest time

Each year, United Methodists gather food donations and help sort and pack them for the Arkansas Food Bank or The Disaster Relief “Hub.” Food staples, hygiene supplies, flood buckets, and other items are collected for later distribution to pantries and victims of disasters.

To get involved, email Gaye Richardson.
